Superstar is likely to return to the capital tonight and fans have already started boarding buses and trains to attend the meet.

The key functionaries of Rajinikanth’s fan clubs from 32 districts including Puducherry who will board buses and trains in a day or two for Chennai, is all set to have only one goal: “Convincing superstar at least to float a people’s movement as he himself had suggested in 2004 for inter-linking of national rivers.”

Already office bearers from Tiruvallur, Ramnad, Madurai, Villupuram and Kanjeepuram have reached the city. Other distritc fans are just waiting for the exact date of the meet, which would be announced by Sathyanarayanaa tomorrow evening.

“Satyanarayana has promised that we can have audience with Rajinikanth anytime after October 11. However, we are yet to get any confirmation from our thalaivar who will be back in the city on Saturday,” said Om Sekar, president, Rajini fan clubs of Chennai.

Whether Rajinikanth will succumb to the political aspirations of his fans is a big question. “Our time has come. We are confident of extracting a promise from our leader to float a social outfit. Our leader’s path will be like that of Gandhiji and Kamarajar. He will put an end to the Dravidian political outfits which have ruined the state,” said Rajini Ganesan, president of Rajini fan clubs from Thanjavur. With Lok Sabha elections around the corner Rajini fans think this is a golden opportunity to drag their star into political arena. But sources close to him indicated that the superstar is simply not inclined.
